The Walther PP-23 ("Polizeipistole" or "Police Pistol" 2323) is a standard issued small arm for the Terranovian Armed Forces. It is also their version of the Human Walther PP; which first appeared in Nazi, Germany during World War 2.
History []
The Walther PP-23 didn't come out until the Terranovian Civil War; which was the fall of the Terranovian ruler; Chandra Kuasa. Soldiers needed a new weapon that they could use to dispatch enemies quickly and in close quarters where their rifles failed. After going through the histories of many beings; Chandra found the Human archives and discovered the Walther PP and as a result, ordered the creation of a pistol much like it. They were eventually issued to troops and it proved to be a success. Some of these were later taken by the Terranovian Resistance and were used against the Terranovian Armed Forces.
Present Day[]
Despite it's history; the weapon remained within the arsenal of the Terranovian Empire and has become a very popular weapon among not just military; but civilians as well. queen of the Terranovians; Aissa Nova is known to carry this pistol; but only uses it in situations that are proven to be too intense and in close quarters.
Even though the Intergalactic Alliance of Freedom is issued weapons like the Plasma Atomizer or the PA-38; some troops are known to carry this weapon as a back up so that they are not without weapons if they lose their primary and secondary weapons.
Functions[]
Despite the resources the Walther PP-23 is composed of; it works like the original Walther PP. It fires only in semi-automatic fire and despite the laser technology of the Terranovians; this weapon's ammunition is semi-conventional and unconventional. The .380 ATP (Adaptive Terranovian Pistol) is in the form of a standard .380 ACP cartridge that is composed of Terranovium Crystal; as is the round. Once the round is hit by the hammer; Glass Emerald propels the round out of the chamber and it spins out of the barrel. Gas is absorbed in the gas tube; pushing back the slide and chambering another round.

During the Carter Dynasty; the Terranovian Empire released a much shorter version of the Walther PP-23, known as the Walther PPK-23. This version is similar to that of the Walther PPK released on Earth during the 1970s. This weapon is sold to both the military of the Terranovian Empire and the other various empires of the world; as well as sold to civilians.
