The PA-38 (A.K.A "The Plasma Atomization Rifle") is a rifle version of the Plasma Atomizer designed and developed by Plasmius Technologies in the 24th Century.

The PA-38 was designed after the creation of it's pistol counterpart in 2323. The weapon was designed to be smaller than many of the energy rifles developed by other races. The weapon was tested and proved to be a fine replacement for many of the nuclear energy weapons used for the next several years prior to this weapon's creation

Aaron Carter was called in to test this weapon and found it to have an impressive effectiveness when fired on targets. It later became the standard issued rifle for the Intergalactic Alliance of Freedom; against their enemies and was also supplied to their allies.

The PA-38 is known to possess a bullpup design with a triple select fire system. The first select fire system is for it's fire; such as it's Semi-Automatic, 3-5 Round Bursts and even full automatic fire. The second select fire system is designed to switch between the type of energy bolt will be fired; whether it be plasma bolts or concentrated beams. The final select fire is designed to actually select between the weapons stun, kill and atomization modes.

The plasma powercell designed as the magazine is usually housed well within the stock of the weapon; which will immediately release the empty mag after using up the last of the energy. The weapon is also designed with a well concealed scope on the top; capable of automatic and manual targeting; as well as an integrated multi-vision switch. It also comes with an added foregrip for quick turning and holding the weapon down during recoil. The recoil of the weapon is very little and with the foregrip; there is absolutely none.
